Fed's Hammack warns of extended supply chain disruptions
BY Reuters | ECONOMIC | 09:34 AM EDTJune 2 (Reuters) - Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland President Beth Hammack warned on Tuesday that even an imminent end to the Middle East war will result in extended disruptions to the economy.
"What I've heard from business contacts, particularly in the energy sector, is that even if the (Strait of Hormuz) was opened tomorrow, it's going to be months before we actually rebuild that flow of oil," and that will generate rippling disruptions through the economy, Hammack said in comments after a speech in Cleveland.
