Japan March factory output unexpectedly falls 0.5% month-on-month
BY Reuters | ECONOMIC | 07:57 PM EDTTOKYO, April 30 (Reuters) - Japan's factory output unexpectedly fell 0.5% in March from the previous month versus the median market forecast for a 1.1% gain, hit by shrinking output in chemical and petroleum products, government data showed on Thursday.
Manufacturers surveyed by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry expect seasonally adjusted output to rise 2.1% in April and increase 2.2% in May. (Reporting by Kantaro Komiya; Editing by Jacqueline Wong)
