Greek unemployment rises to 9.0% in March
BY Reuters | ECONOMIC | 04/29/26 05:06 AM EDTApril 29 (Reuters) - Greece's jobless rate stood at 9.0% in March, up from an upwardly revised 8.6% in February, data from statistics service ELSTAT showed on Wednesday.
Seasonally adjusted data showed 436,057 people were officially unemployed.
Unemployment impacted women more than men, at the rates of 11.5% and 6.9%, respectively.
The jobless rate for young people aged 15 to 24 years dropped to 21.0% in March from 21.1% in the same month in 2025, ELSTAT said. (Reporting by Athina Karolidou and Antonis Pothitos in Gdansk)
