Greek unemployment drops to 7.7% in January
BY Reuters | ECONOMIC | 05:09 AM ESTMarch 3 (Reuters) - Greece's jobless rate stood at 7.7% in January, down from an upwardly revised 7.9% in December, data from statistics service ELSTAT showed on Tuesday.
Seasonally adjusted data showed 369,146 people were officially unemployed.
Unemployment impacted women more than men, at the rates of 10.5% and 5.4%, respectively.
The jobless rate for young people aged 15 to 24 years dropped to 16.0% in January from 21.2% in the same month in 2025, ELSTAT said. (Reporting by Athina Karolidou and Antonis Pothitos in Gdansk)
