Q3 US Employment Cost Index Rises Less Than Expected

08:33 AM EST, 12/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The quarterly US employment cost index rose by 0.8% in Q3, slower than the 0.9% gain in the previous quarter, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics reported on Wednesday.

This was below the consensus estimate of a 0.9% gain in a survey compiled by Bloomberg.

Benefits costs rose by 0.8% in the third quarter after a 0.7% gain in previous quarter, while wage growth slowed to 0.8% from 1.0% in Q2.
