May 26 (Reuters) - Viridian Therapeutics (VRDN) said on Tuesday it has signed a manufacturing agreement with WuXi Biologics (WXIBF) to support commercial supply of its experimental drug if approved.

* WuXi Biologics (WXIBF) will make and supply both the drug substance and final product for veligrotug, Viridian's treatment for thyroid eye disease, a condition that causes eye swelling and vision problems.

* The agreement makes WuXi Biologics (WXIBF) a non-exclusive supplier, allowing Viridian Therapeutics (VRDN) to source the drug from other manufacturers as well.

* Viridian Therapeutics (VRDN) said it will provide monthly forecasts of demand, with part of those orders treated as firm and non-cancellable commitments.

* The company added that pricing under the deal will depend on volumes, with service fees fixed through the end of 2026 and subject to annual adjustments afterward.

* Viridian said it will also cover certain additional costs incurred by WuXi Biologics (WXIBF) during manufacturing.

* The initial term of the agreement is five years, and Viridian Therapeutics (VRDN) said it will automatically renew for further five-year periods unless either party opts out in advance.

* Viridian noted it can terminate the deal if legal changes affect WuXi Biologics' (WXIBF) ability to perform services, while either side can also exit in case of breach or financial distress.

* The company said the agreement includes standard terms on product quality, deliveries, regulatory compliance and dispute handling. (Reporting by Sahil Pandey in Bengaluru; editing by Alan Barona)

In general the bond market is volatile, and fixed income securities carry interest rate risk. (As interest rates rise, bond prices usually fall, and vice versa. This effect is usually more pronounced for longer-term securities.) Fixed income securities also carry inflation risk and credit and default risks for both issuers and counterparties. Unlike individual bonds, most bond funds do not have a maturity date, so avoiding losses caused by price volatility by holding them until maturity is not possible.

Lower-quality debt securities generally offer higher yields, but also involve greater risk of default or price changes due to potential changes in the credit quality of the issuer. Any fixed income security sold or redeemed prior to maturity may be subject to loss.
