March US Construction Spending Rises More than Expected, Residential Building Up
BY MT Newswires | ECONOMIC | 10:13 AM EDT10:13 AM EDT, 05/07/2026 (MT Newswires) -- US construction spending rose by 0.6% in March, compared with a 0.2% increase expected in a survey compiled by Bloomberg and following a 0.2% decrease in February.
Private residential construction was up 1.7%, with single-family home construction up 2.7%, multi-family construction up 0.3% and remodeling activity up 0.9%.
Private nonresidential construction and public construction both fell by 0.2%.
