Africa risks losing 0.2 percentage points of GDP in 2026 if Iran war drags on, report says
BY Reuters | ECONOMIC | 08:16 AM EDTTANGIER, Morocco, April 2 (Reuters) - African economies could lose 0.2 percentage points of GDP growth in 2026 if the war in the Gulf exceeds six months, according to a report released on Thursday by two U.N. agencies, the African Union and the African Development Bank.
"The longer the conflict lasts and the more severe the disruption to shipping routes and energy and fertilizer supplies, the greater the risk of a significant growth slowdown across the continent," said the report, presented at the UN's Economic Commission meeting in Tangier.
