Brazil's central bank boosts gold holdings to second-largest reserve asset in 2025
BY Reuters | ECONOMIC | 03/31/26 03:54 PM EDTBRASILIA, March 31 (Reuters) - Brazil's central bank gold holdings became the second-largest component of its foreign exchange reserves after the U.S. dollar in 2025, according to its annual report released on Tuesday.
Gold accounted for 7.19% of total reserves, up from 3.55% in 2024, while the share of U.S. dollar assets fell to 72.00% from 78.45% a year earlier. (Reporting by Marcela Ayres)
