AES Extends Deadline for Bondholder Consent Solicitation

09:04 AM EDT, 03/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- AES (AES) said Monday it has extended the deadline for its consent solicitation on $900 million of 5.45% senior notes due 2028 to March 31, 2026.

The company said about 49% of noteholders had approved proposed changes to the bond terms, as of the previous deadline

AES (AES) said it needs majority consent for the amendments to proceed.

The company said it is offering a total payment of $2.25 million to participating holders, with all other terms of the solicitation unchanged.
