Daily Roundup of Key US Economic Data for March 26
BY MT Newswires | ECONOMIC | 02:10 PM EDT02:10 PM EDT, 03/26/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The Kansas City Federal Reserve's manufacturing index rose to 11 in March from 5 in February, indicating faster expansion.
Initial jobless claims increased by 5,000 to 210,000 in the week ended March 21, but the four-week moving average fell by 250 to 210,500, a fourth straight decrease.
Insured claims fell by 32,000 to 1,819,000 million in the employment survey week ended March 14. Insured claims were at a level of 1,827,000 in the employment survey week ended Feb. 14.
Natural gas stocks fell by 54 billion cubic feet to 1.829 trillion cubic feet in the week ended March 20, up 5.2% from a year earlier and 0.8% higher than the seasonal average for the current week over the previous five years.
