Angola's Central Bank Keeps Policy Rate Unchanged at 17.5% Amid Geopolitical Risks

12:30 PM EDT, 03/12/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Angola's central bank (BNA) Thursday said its Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) decided to maintain the policy BNA rate at 17.5%, as well as the other rates.

"The decision to maintain the policy interest rates reflects the need to preserve a prudent stance in a context still marked by uncertainties in the international economic environment, associated with the worsening of geopolitical conflicts, with potential impacts on the national economy", wrote the central bank in its policy statement.

"The intensification of trade and geopolitical tensions worldwide has contributed to greater market volatility, deteriorating the outlook for global economic growth in 2026," added BNA.
