03:36 PM EST, 03/05/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks were decreasing in late Thursday afternoon trading, with the NYSE Financial Index falling 1.2% and the State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) shedding 0.6%.

The Philadelphia Housing Index was dropping 2.5%, and the State Street Real Estate Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLRE) was down 1%.

Bitcoin (BTC-USD) was declining 2.1% to $71,169, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries rose 6.6 basis points to 4.15%.

In corporate news, Berkshire Hathaway (BRK/A) (BRK.A, BRK.B) said Thursday in a regulatory filing that it began repurchasing shares of its common stock on Wednesday. Berkshire's Class A and Class B shares each rose past 2%.
