December US Construction Spending Rises, Residential Building Up
BY MT Newswires | ECONOMIC | 02/27/26 10:16 AM EST10:16 AM EST, 02/27/2026 (MT Newswires) -- US construction spending rose by 0.3% in December, compared with a 0.2% increase expected in a survey compiled by Bloomberg and following a 0.2% decrease in November.
Private residential construction increased by 1.5%, with single-family home construction up 1.6% and multi-family construction increased 0.1%.
Private nonresidential construction declined by 0.7%, while public construction declined by 0.5%.
