Zimbabwe's Central Bank Keeps Policy Rate at 35.0% as Seeks to Consolidate Lower Inflation
BY MT Newswires | ECONOMIC | 02/27/26 07:27 AM EST07:27 AM EST, 02/27/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Zimbabwe's central bank (RBZ) Friday said its Monetary Policy Committee decided to keep its Bank Policy Rate at 35.0%.
"The tight monetary policy stance adopted by the Reserve Bank since September 2024 has engendered a progressive disinflation trajectory and delivered a singledigit inflation starting in January 2026," wrote the central bank in its policy statement.
It's "critical that the Reserve Bank remains cautious to avoid the premature easing of monetary policy and risk reversing the gains on the inflation front," added RBZ.
