01:31 PM EST, 02/02/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks were advancing in Monday afternoon trading, with the NYSE Financial Index rising 1% and the State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) increasing 0.8%.

The Philadelphia Housing Index was up 0.3%, and the State Street Real Estate Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLRE) shed 0.8%.

Bitcoin (BTC-USD) was increasing 2.3% to $78,649, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries was rising 3.2 basis points to 4.27%.

In corporate news, Brookfield Asset Management (BAM) and Peakstone Realty Trust (PKST) said Monday they have signed a definitive deal in which a Brookfield private real estate fund will buy Peakstone Realty Trust for $21 per share in cash, implying an enterprise value of about $1.2 billion. Brookfield shares rose 1.5%, and Peakstone jumped 33%.
