03:23 PM EST, 01/22/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks were advancing in late Thursday afternoon trading, with the NYSE Financial Index up 0.4% and the State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) increasing 0.6%.

The Philadelphia Housing Index was down 0.8%, and the State Street Real Estate Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLRE) shed 0.7%.

Bitcoin (BTC-USD) was adding 0.5% to $89,844, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries was slightly lower at 4.25%.

In corporate news, JPMorgan Chase (JPM) said Thursday that President Trump's lawsuit has "no merit," and stated they close accounts due to legal or regulatory risk, not political or religious reasons. Earlier, Bloomberg reported that JPMorgan (JPM) and its CEO Jamie Dimon have been sued by Trump for at least $5 billion, alleging that the bank stopped offering him banking services for political reasons. JPMorgan (JPM) shares were up 0.5%.
