Scotiabank Says Lower Canada Home Sales for December Are Likely Affected by Weather

07:15 AM EST, 01/15/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Canadian existing home sales fell 2.7% month-over-month seasonally adjusted in December, said Scotiabank after the release of data from the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) on Thursday.

Weather likely played a role as winter gripped large parts of the country earlier than normal in recent years, stated the bank.
