Sector Update: Financial Stocks Gain Thursday Afternoon

01:56 PM EST, 12/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks were advancing in Thursday afternoon trading, with the NYSE Financial Index rising 1.5% and the State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) adding 1.7%.

The Philadelphia Housing Index increased 0.8%, and the State Street Real Estate Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLRE) was up 0.2%.

Bitcoin (BTC-USD) was falling 2% to $90,423, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries dropped 4.4 basis points to 4.12%.

In corporate news, Apollo Global Management (APO) is considering options for Invited, including a sale or an IPO that could value the membership club operator at over $3 billion, including debt, Reuters reported. Apollo shares added 0.9%.

Goldman Sachs (GS) Alternatives led a $200 million funding round for AI software development startup Harness, valuing the company at $5.5 billion, Harness said. Goldman shares were up 2.4%.

Enova International (ENVA) shares jumped past 12% after the company said it has agreed to buy Grasshopper Bancorp and its Grasshopper Bank unit in a cash-and-stock deal valued at about $369 million.

Nu's (NU) Nubank is on the lookout to buy a small bank that already has a license in Brazil, Bloomberg reported. Nu shares rose more than 2%.
