01:23 PM EST, 12/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks were advancing in Wednesday afternoon trading, with the NYSE Financial Index and the State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) each rising 0.7%.

The Philadelphia Housing Index was climbing 1.4%, and the State Street Real Estate Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLRE) was up 0.5%.

Bitcoin (BTC-USD) was declining 0.3% to $92,402, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries was shedding 2 basis points to 4.16%.

In corporate news, Willis Towers Watson (WTW) on Wednesday agreed to acquire insurance broker Newfront in a cash-and-stock deal worth up to $1.3 billion, as the company aims to expand its reach in the US middle market. Willis Towers Watson (WTW) shares were down 1.4%.
