06:09 AM EST, 12/08/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Wall Street futures pointed modestly higher pre-bell Monday as traders await the Wednesday afternoon rate decision from the Federal Reserve.

There is a four-in-five chance Fed Chair Jerome Powell's central bank will announce a 0.25% rate cut, according to the CME Group FedWatch Tool.

In the futures, the S&P 500 rose 0.1%, the Nasdaq inclined 0.2% and the Dow Jones was steady.

Investors also look forward to the Tuesday release of the October Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS), sure to be parsed for clues to labor market tightness, ahead of the Fed decision.

Asian exchanges traded choppily overnight, with Seoul and Taiwan gaining on tech-sector strength, while European bourses tracked evenly midday on the continent.

Toll Brothers (TOL) plans to report earnings after-bell, among others.

The economic calendar is vacant.

In premarket action, Bitcoin traded at $92,032, West Texas Intermediate crude oil traded lower at $59.48, and 10-year US Treasuries offered 4.15%. Spot gold traded for $4,206 an ounce.

In general the bond market is volatile, and fixed income securities carry interest rate risk. (As interest rates rise, bond prices usually fall, and vice versa. This effect is usually more pronounced for longer-term securities.) Fixed income securities also carry inflation risk and credit and default risks for both issuers and counterparties. Unlike individual bonds, most bond funds do not have a maturity date, so avoiding losses caused by price volatility by holding them until maturity is not possible.

Lower-quality debt securities generally offer higher yields, but also involve greater risk of default or price changes due to potential changes in the credit quality of the issuer. Any fixed income security sold or redeemed prior to maturity may be subject to loss.
