Greek unemployment drops to 8.6% in October
BY Reuters | ECONOMIC | 12/02/25 05:05 AM ESTDec 2 (Reuters) - Greece's jobless rate stood at 8.6% in October, down from an upwardly revised 8.7% in September, data from statistics service ELSTAT showed on Tuesday.
Seasonally adjusted data showed 411,369 people were officially unemployed.
Unemployment impacted women more than men, at the rates of 11.0% and 6.7%, respectively.
The jobless rate for young people aged 15 to 24 years dropped to 18.8% in October from 21.5% in the same month in 2024, ELSTAT said. (Reporting by Athina Karolidou and Olivier Cherfan in Gdansk)
