ADP US Private Payrolls Declines in Four Weeks Ending November 8

09:04 AM EST, 11/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- ADP's weekly measure of private payrolls showed a preliminary average decrease of 13,500 jobs in the four weeks ending on Nov. 8.

"Consumer strength remains in question as we enter the holiday hiring season, which might be playing into delayed or curtailed job creation," ADP said.

ADP noted several transformations of self-employment over the decades, from family farms in past to technology-based freelancing applications and platform-based services. Some aged people use it to earn after employment, while others use it to continue working and to maintain their social connections.

Technology and remote work facilities have both made it easier for aged people to stay in the labor force. As more employees retire, their skills and institutional knowledge became important in the gig economy, ADP said.

In general the bond market is volatile, and fixed income securities carry interest rate risk. (As interest rates rise, bond prices usually fall, and vice versa. This effect is usually more pronounced for longer-term securities.) Fixed income securities also carry inflation risk and credit and default risks for both issuers and counterparties. Unlike individual bonds, most bond funds do not have a maturity date, so avoiding losses caused by price volatility by holding them until maturity is not possible.

Lower-quality debt securities generally offer higher yields, but also involve greater risk of default or price changes due to potential changes in the credit quality of the issuer. Any fixed income security sold or redeemed prior to maturity may be subject to loss.
