August US Construction Spending Rise Unexpectedly, Residential Building Up
BY MT Newswires | ECONOMIC | 11/17/25 10:11 AM EST10:11 AM EST, 11/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- US construction spending rose by 0.2% in August, compared with a 0.1% decrease expected in a survey compiled by Bloomberg as of 7:40 am ET and following an upwardly revised 0.2% increase in July.
Private residential construction rose by 0.8%, with single-family home construction down 0.4%, multi-family construction up 0.2% and remodeling activity up 2.3%
Private nonresidential construction fell by 0.3%, while public construction held steady.
