Fed's Musalem says need to proceed with caution on rates
BY Reuters | ECONOMIC | 11/13/25 01:56 PM ESTNov 13 (Reuters) - Alberto Musalem, who runs the St Louis Federal Reserve Bank, on Thursday reiterated his view that policy is now closer to neutral than to modestly restrictive, leaving limited room to ease further without becoming overly accommodative.
"Going forward, I think we need to proceed and tread with caution," Musalem said at the University of Evansville in Indiana, noting that inflation is too high, at 3%. "I believe we need to continue to lean against above-target inflation while providing some support to the labor market." (Reporting by Ann Saphir; editing by Diane Craft)
