Sector Update: Financial Stocks Advance Late Afternoon

03:47 PM EST, 11/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks were higher in late Friday afternoon trading, with the NYSE Financial Index and the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) each adding 0.4%.

The Philadelphia Housing Index was up 0.1%, and the Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLRE) increased 0.9%.

Bitcoin (BTC-USD) climbed 1.8% to $103,146, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries was slightly lower at 4.09%.

In economic news, the University of Michigan's preliminary consumer sentiment index fell to 50.3 in November from 53.6 in October, below the 53.0 forecast in a survey compiled by Bloomberg.

In corporate news, Huntington Bancshares (HBAN) agreed to buy some divisions of KKR-owned (KKR) Janney Montgomery Scott, Bloomberg reported. Huntington shares rose 1.1%.

TPG (TPG) has made a binding offer of about 1 billion euros ($1.15 billion) for Nexi's digital banking unit, Bloomberg reported. TPG shares added 0.8%.

KKR (KKR) stock was up nearly 1% after the company posted higher Q3 adjusted earnings and revenue.

Blackstone (BX) President Jonathan Gray said Japan's market for mergers and acquisitions will remain attractive to foreign investors, even as the government moves toward stricter screening, Nikkei Asia reported. Blackstone shares climbed 1.7%.
