October Kansas City Fed Manufacturing Index Posts Unexpected Gain

11:13 AM EDT, 10/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The Kansas City Fed monthly manufacturing index rose to a reading of 6 in October from 4 in September, compared with expectations for a decrease to a 2 print in a survey compiled by Bloomberg as of 7:40 am ET, indicating faster expansion in the sector.

The ISM's national manufacturing reading will be released on Nov. 3.

Within the Kansas City data, there were index gains for production, shipments and prices paid but declines for new orders and employment.
