01:23 PM EDT, 10/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks fell in Thursday afternoon trading with the NYSE Financial Index shedding 0.7% and the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) dropping 0.5%.

The Philadelphia Housing Index declined 2.4%, and the Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLRE) lost 0.3%.

Bitcoin (BTC-USD) fell 2.5% to $120,327, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries rose 2 basis points to 4.15%.

In corporate news, Citigroup (C) declined an acquisition offer from Grupo Mexico to buy its Grupo Financiero Banamex business. Citigroup (C) shares dropped 0.7%.
