Brazil's central bank sees inflation above target in early 2028
BY Reuters | ECONOMIC | 09/25/25 07:15 AM EDTSAO PAULO, Sept 25 (Reuters) - Brazil's central bank on Thursday released updated long-term inflation projections, forecasting that in the first quarter of 2028, its final period considered, inflation will reach 3.1%, still above the official 3% target.
The figure was included in the bank's quarterly monetary policy report, in which it also revised this year's economic growth forecast to 2.0%, down from 2.1% projected in June.
Policymakers unveiled for the first time their projection for GDP expansion in 2026, seen at 1.5%. (Reporting by Fernando Cardoso; Editing by Aida Pelaez-Fernandez)
