Fed's Daly:? US labor market not weak, want to prevent that
BY Reuters | ECONOMIC | 09/24/25 04:49 PM EDTSept 24 (Reuters) - San Francisco Federal Reserve President Mary Daly on Wednesday said she would not call the labor market weak, though it has cooled from its formerly "solid" state.
"I'd say it's sustainable, but ... I do not want to see further softening," Daly said in Salt Lake City. "That's part of why the interest rate decision was very straightforward: You're taking out some insurance" against the possibility that the labor market could tip into weakness, she said.
