01:18 PM EDT, 09/22/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks were decreasing in Monday afternoon trading, with the NYSE Financial Index easing 0.1% and the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) off 0.3%.

The Philadelphia Housing Index was falling 1.5%, and the Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLRE) rose 0.3%.

Bitcoin (BTC-USD) was declining 2.5% to $112,416, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries was slightly lower at nearly 4.14%.

In corporate news, Brighthouse Financial (BHF) shares fell 2.2% after its shareholder Greenlight Capital sent a letter to the insurance company's board urging it to move forward with a reported offer from Aquarian as part of a review of strategic options.
