07:12 AM EDT, 09/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Wall Street futures pointed moderately higher pre-bell Wednesday ahead of a key labor report and following a court ruling considered favorable to Alphabet (GOOG, GOOGL), parent of the search-engine giant operator Google (GOOG).

In the futures, the S&P 500 rose 0.5%, the Nasdaq inclined 0.7% and the Dow Jones was flat.

Alphabet traded up 6% pre-bell after a federal court ruled the company did not have to split off Chrome or Android browsers to comply with antitrust laws.

Investors will also scrutinize the Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) for July, scheduled for release in Washington at 10 am ET.

Asian exchanges traded mostly lower overnight on tech-sector softness, while European bourses gained ground midday on the continent.

On the economic calendar, in addition to the JOLTS report, is the July factory orders bulletin at 10 am.

The Federal Reserve's Beige Book, a compendium of business and economic reports from the 12 Fed branches, posts at 2 pm.

Federal Reserve officials St. Louis President Alberto Musalem and Minneapolis President Neel Kashkari are slated to speak Wednesday.

In premarket action, Bitcoin traded at $111,464, West Texas Intermediate crude oil traded lower at $64.17, and 10-year US Treasuries offered 4.29%. Spot gold traded for $3537 an ounce, near fresh all-time zeniths.

In general the bond market is volatile, and fixed income securities carry interest rate risk. (As interest rates rise, bond prices usually fall, and vice versa. This effect is usually more pronounced for longer-term securities.) Fixed income securities also carry inflation risk and credit and default risks for both issuers and counterparties. Unlike individual bonds, most bond funds do not have a maturity date, so avoiding losses caused by price volatility by holding them until maturity is not possible.

Lower-quality debt securities generally offer higher yields, but also involve greater risk of default or price changes due to potential changes in the credit quality of the issuer. Any fixed income security sold or redeemed prior to maturity may be subject to loss.
