Namibia's Central Bank Keeps Repo Rate at 6.75% to Help Economy, Safeguard Currency Peg
BY MT Newswires | ECONOMIC | 08/13/25 09:48 AM EDT09:48 AM EDT, 08/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Namibia's central bank (BoN) on Wednesday said its Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) unanimously decided to keep the Repo rate unchanged at 6.75%.
The MPC decision was based on the need "to continue safeguarding the peg between the Namibia Dollar and the South African Rand, while supporting the domestic economy," wrote BoN in the policy statement.
