Equity Markets Higher as Jobless Claims Decline, Fed Official Comments

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.5% at 44,691.06, while the Nasdaq Composite increased 0.2% to 20,643.12. The S&P gained 0.3% to 6,283.33. Among sectors, consumer discretionary led the gainers while communication services had the steepest decline.

The 10-year US Treasury yield was up 0.6 basis points to 4.35%, while the two-year rate increased 2.9 basis points to 3.88%.
