Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Mixed

09:35 AM EDT, 07/08/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed in recent trading Tuesday with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) 0.6% lower and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) up 0.2%.

Carnival (CCL) shares were 0.5 higher after the company priced a $3 billion private offering of 5.75% senior unsecured notes due 2032.

Hershey (HSY) said it has appointed Kirk Tanner as president and chief executive officer, effective Aug. 18. Shares of Hershey were down 0.9%.

Bunge Global (BG) has chartered a 30,000 metric ton shipment of Argentine soybean meal bound for China, Reuters reported, quoting shipping data from an Argentine maritime agency. Shares of Bunge were 0.3% higher.
