Chile's economic activity misses market forecasts in May
BY Reuters | ECONOMIC | 07/01/25 08:37 AM EDTSANTIAGO, July 1 (Reuters) - Chile's economic activity rose 3.2% in May when compared to a year earlier, central bank data showed on Tuesday, landing below market forecasts as economists polled by Reuters expected a 3.7% year-on-year expansion.
The IMACEC index, which accounts for about 90% of the Andean country's gross domestic product, registered a 0.2% decrease on a monthly basis, the central bank added. (Reporting by Fabian Cambero and Aida Pelaez-Fernandez; Editing by Gabriel Araujo)
