CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens higher as metal mining shares advance; investors assess key economic data

At 9:33 a.m. ET (1433 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index was up 0.24%, or 58.88 points, at 24,848.18.
