Brazil central bank flags unusual dollar outflows
BY Reuters | ECONOMIC | 12/19/24 10:05 AM ESTBRASILIA, Dec 19 (Reuters) - Brazil's central bank chief Roberto Campos Neto said on Thursday that there is an unusually large year-end outflow of U.S. dollars, after the Brazilian real recently hit all-time lows.
Campos Neto dismissed the idea that the local currency depreciation, impacting interest rate futures, was tied to fiscal dominance. (Reporting by Marcela Ayres; Editing by Gabriel Araujo)
