NEW YORK, Oct 7 (Reuters) - Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis President Alberto Musalem said on Monday that strong hiring data released last week hasn't upended his outlook for monetary policy interest rate cuts.
The September jobs data was "strong" and showed no signs of a job market emergency emerging, Musalem said in response to questions following a speech in New York. That said, he added, "The path I penciled in" for monetary policy at the most recent Fed policy meeting "is probably still appropriate." (Reporting by Michael S. Derby; Editing by Leslie Adler)
