CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens higher after Fed interest rate cut
BY Reuters | ECONOMIC | 09/19/24 09:37 AM EDTSept 19 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened higher on Thursday tracking a jump in global markets after the U.S. Federal Reserve slashed interest rates by an oversized 50 basis points.
At 9:34 a.m. ET (1334 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index was up 239.16 points, or 1.01%, at 23831.76. (Reporting by Nikhil Sharma in Bengaluru; Editing by Leroy Leo)
