CANADA STOCKS-TSX hits a record high on bets of hefty US rate cut
BY Reuters | ECONOMIC | 09/16/24 09:34 AM EDTSept 16 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index hit a record high on Monday, lifted by healthcare and energy stocks, as investors anticipated a bigger U.S. interest rate cut by the U.S. Federal Reserve later this week.
At 9:31 a.m. ET (13:31 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index was up 88.59 points, or 0.38%, at 23,657.24.
