Fed's Powell declines to point to a particular month for rate cut start
BY Reuters | ECONOMIC | 06/24/25 11:18 AM EDTJune 24 (Reuters) - Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell on Tuesday said if it turns out that inflation pressures are contained, the central bank will get to a place when it can cut interest rates, but "we don't need to be in any rush."
Powell, answering a question during testimony before the House Financial Services Committee about two Fed governors who have recently said a rate cut in July could be warranted, said he would not point to any specific month for a rate reduction.
