CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- CloudQuant, a leading provider of data technology and research insights, has released new backtests and forecasts utilizing Prosper Insights & Analytics US award-winning survey data, which provides a proactive look at consumer trends to come. The results have been impressive and all types of investors should be taking notice.

By analyzing the consumer sentiment data and purchase intent data, CloudQuant's proprietary modeling has been able to foresee consumer trends and behavior in the market with high accuracy. Prosper monthly signals continue to show strength in identifying stock market subindustries that outperform the S&P 500 Index as well as under-performers that are great hedges for market risks. The long/short strategy which rebalances once per month has outperformed the S&P 500 by approximately 23% since January 2022.

In addition to the new backtests, CloudQuant is excited to announce the availability of a Core CPI Forecast for trial and license. This forecast has been 91.7% directionally accurate and is released 3-4 weeks ahead of the official release by The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

The Core CPI forecast utilizes Prosper consumer survey data as well as several other alternative data sources to make the prediction. The forecast provides valuable insight for investment managers who want to stay ahead of the curve by utilizing CPI to make informed decisions about which investments are likely to perform well during periods of rising prices, among many other uses.

In general the bond market is volatile, and fixed income securities carry interest rate risk. (As interest rates rise, bond prices usually fall, and vice versa. This effect is usually more pronounced for longer-term securities.) Fixed income securities also carry inflation risk and credit and default risks for both issuers and counterparties. Unlike individual bonds, most bond funds do not have a maturity date, so avoiding losses caused by price volatility by holding them until maturity is not possible.

Lower-quality debt securities generally offer higher yields, but also involve greater risk of default or price changes due to potential changes in the credit quality of the issuer. Any fixed income security sold or redeemed prior to maturity may be subject to loss.
